Topic: Overgrowth & NS2

Its been on facebook since like, 10 hours ago apparently but noone seems to have made any comment about it on the forums. For those who dont know, anyone who preordered NS2 now has access to a second game, Overgrowth. Check out details at the website.

Ive never heard of this game before but I think this is a pretty decent Idea as it will possibly boost sales for both of these titles and also increase players as now people who preodred the other game will give NS2 a crack and visa versa.

Let us discuss our thoughts on this, although im pretty sure it will mainly be "I DONT GIVE A FUCK, GIVE ME NS2!!!!"

I think the best part of that announcement went a little something like this:

We'll also be releasing our alpha to pre-orderers soon!

Begin the speculation on the definition of 'soon'

Worst case is NS gets a few extra players from that other game. I keep forgetting that NS2 wont have the backing of HL like the original. Hoping people actually buy it so we aren't loading up a single GA 24 player server to have a game of co_angst.

Has anyone tried overgrowth alpha?
Its available for download via their forums.

I might give it a go later, since alpha looks pretty unpolished. But unknownworlds could atleast take a page out of their book, and offer something similar for ns2. I mean they constantly talk about shit they are playing with on their twitter, so maybe release it out as unofficial.

I totaly missed the part where it said the Alpha will shortly be released, this is good news.

I still havnt tried the other game yet either, there didnt seem to be an easy way to find the alpha on their website when I had a quick look the other day so I thought it wasnt out yet.

Wasn't the original plan to be releasing content after that onos vid, on a weekly basis, until the alpha/beta comes out in october?

Dont think they actually said it, but when they did it for 2 weeks in a row I think people got the impression it was going to be like that.
